From a thought to a note you can find again

Dictate

Hold your key and talk.

Your words appear in whatever app you're using, or in the note you picked, even after you click away. Speech is transcribed on your Mac.

Calls

It offers to take notes when a call starts.

Works with Zoom, Teams, Slack, WhatsApp and calls in Chrome. Say yes and NoteSage records both sides of the call, your microphone and the computer's audio, and keeps the recording on your Mac. Nothing records unless you say so.

Notes

Turn any note into something useful.

Ten built-in SageTasks, such as meeting minutes, an executive brief or action items, or write your own. Summarise each recording on its own, file it as a sub note, send a note to Slack, and find anything later with search.

Ask

Ask your notes and check the source.

Chat searches your notes and transcripts and cites the note each answer came from. Attach a note with @, ask about a call that's still running, or open Chat over any app with a shortcut.

Private

Run it on your Mac, or use your own keys.

NoteSage checks what your Mac can handle and recommends on-device models for speech and AI. If you prefer the cloud, bring your own provider keys. Turn on the local MCP server and Claude or Cursor can read your notes without them leaving your Mac.

Questions

Does a bot join my meetings?

No. NoteSage records on your Mac, from your microphone and the computer's audio, so nothing joins the call and nobody else has to install anything. Let people know when you record, as the law where you are may require.

Which calls can NoteSage record?

Any call you can hear on your Mac. When a Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack or WhatsApp call starts, or a call in Chrome such as Google Meet, NoteSage offers to take notes (on macOS 14 or later). You can also start a recording yourself at any time.

Can it work without sending my audio or notes to the cloud?

Yes. Choose on-device models and NoteSage transcribes, summarises and answers questions on your Mac. It checks what your Mac can handle and recommends models that fit. Audio only leaves your Mac if you pick a cloud provider.

Can I use my own AI provider keys?

Yes. Bring your own keys for cloud providers such as OpenAI, Groq or OpenRouter, or mix them: for example, transcribe on your Mac and summarise in the cloud.

What does NoteSage do with a transcript?

Run a SageTask on it: meeting minutes, action items, an executive brief, a one-on-one summary and more, or a template you write yourself. Then ask Chat about it, and every answer links to the note it came from.

Which Macs does NoteSage run on?

Macs with Apple Silicon (M1 or later). Intel Macs are not supported yet.

Is there a Windows version?

NoteSage for Windows is in development. An early build for 64-bit Windows 10 and 11 is available on the download section above if you would like a first look.
